Layout Design for Pursuits & Proposals
The MSP Airside Civil Engineering Services proposal supported HNTB’s long-standing partnership with the Metropolitan Airports Commission. The pursuit aimed to showcase the firm’s deep aviation expertise and ability to deliver large-scale airfield design and construction projects at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport.
The proposal required transforming highly technical engineering and construction content—dense with data, team details, and aviation terminologyinto a visually engaging, easy-to-navigate document. The goal was to maintain credibility and precision while keeping the story clear and compelling for selection committee reviewers.
As lead designer, I created a clean, cohesive layout system that unified the proposal’s many components that cover, org charts, maps, resumes, and infographics. I used strong hierarchy, consistent typography, and color strategy to highlight differentiators and guide the reader through complex information. Visual storytelling elements, including simplified diagrams and data-driven graphics, helped balance the technical depth with readability.
The final design elevated HNTB’s message, turning detailed engineering content into a visually engaging narrative that reflected precision, partnership, and innovation. The polished presentation strengthened the firm’s position as a trusted advisor for the MAC and reinforced HNTB’s reputation for excellence in aviation design.
